When your child joins our school we will gather lots of information from you about your child’s dietary or medical needs.
Dietary Needs
All our staff complete allergen and anaphylaxis training. This is in addition to first aid training. We have adrenaline autoinjectors on site in case of an emergency and if your child requires specific medication to manage their allergy we ask you to bring it into school.
If your child has a food allergy our staff will work with you to ensure we plan for safe baking and sensory activities. Our kitchen team will ensure they provide meals that are safe for your child.
During events and trips we ask all parents to only send in shop bought food products with clear labels so that we can ensure no external food allergens are bought into school. We make sure all children are included in activities and we will work with you to make sure this can happen.
Medical Needs
If your child has a specific medical condition our staff will be trained in order to manage their specific health care needs. Our staff are proficient in supporting children with feed pumps and they regularly train in administering life-saving medication, such as Buccal Midazolam.
If your child has a medical condition our SENDCO will work with you to create a health care plan, so that all staff working with your child are knowledgeable about your child’s condition.
